Republicans Mulling DC Grand Jury Outcomes For Clinton Prosecution

The warning is over. The House is now openly preparing to brand Bill and Hillary Clinton in contempt of Congress over Jeffrey Epstein. Subpoenas ignored. Deadlines blown. Tempers boiling. A former federal prosecutor says the votes are there — but the justice system in D.C. may not be.

House Republicans are moving toward one of the most explosive confrontations in recent congressional history: formally voting to hold a former president and a former secretary of state in contempt over their refusal to testify about Jeffrey Epstein. After months of subpoenas, delays, and silence, Chairman James Comer has signaled he is done waiting. The Oversight Committee is expected to advance contempt measures, and former U.S. attorney Joe diGenova predicts the panel will do so even without Democratic support.

If the committee approves, the fight shifts to the House floor, where Republicans must hold together to pass a contempt resolution. From there, the matter would be referred to the Justice Department and a D.C. grand jury — a venue diGenova argues is deeply hostile to prosecuting prominent Democrats. He doubts an indictment would be returned, but says the political and moral stakes remain immense. In his view, forcing the Clintons to answer under oath about Epstein is now as much about Congress’s credibility as theirs.
