Alarming photos show food aboard USS Abraham Lincoln after 9 months at sea as several ‘tried to jump overboard’

Families Say Sailors Are “Breaking” After 9 Months Trapped at Sea – Officials Call It “Fake News”

About 5,000 Americans are drifting toward a breaking point. Nine months at sea, no land in sight, and now reports of suicide attempts, moldy showers, and meals barely fit for a prison tray. Families are begging for help. Washington is calling them liars.

For the families left waiting on shore, each new report from the USS Abraham Lincoln feels like another crack in the promise their loved ones would be cared for. They mailed comfort in cardboard boxes—snacks, soap, clean socks—only to learn those packages never arrived, stranded by suspended mail routes and war-closed skies. Instead of relief, they received late-night messages filled with dread, from sailors who confessed they were afraid to wake up, afraid to speak out, afraid their exhaustion would cost them their careers.

In Washington, leaders insist everything is under control: clean water, working air conditioning, healthy meals, counselors on call. But photographs of gray meat and stories of broken toilets and cold showers have ignited a bitter public fight. Lawmakers accuse the administration of abandoning its own, demanding the bare minimum—hot water, real food, honest answers. Caught between duty and despair, the crew continues its record-breaking vigil, waiting for someone to decide they have sacrificed enough.
