Which Glass Has More Water Your Answer Reveals If Youre A Giver Or A Taker

Take a good look at the image: four identical glasses labeled A, B, C, and D. Each one is filled to a similar level—but there’s a twist. Inside each glass sits a different object: a paperclip, a baseball, an eraser, and a wristwatch.

At first glance, it seems like a simple question: Which glass has more water?
But your instinctive answer might reveal something surprisingly deeper about how you relate to others.

The Hidden Logic
Here’s the key: when an object is placed in water, it displaces some of that water. The bigger the object, the more space it takes up—meaning less actual water fits in the glass.

So, the glass with the smallest object will contain the most water.
Glass A: Paperclip (smallest object)
Glass B: Baseball (largest object)
Glass C: Eraser (medium)
Glass D: Watch (medium-large)

To solve the picture, it helps to separate the visible water level from the amount of water actually present. A glass contains both the water and whatever portion of the object is beneath the surface. If the glasses have the same shape and the surface levels match, the larger submerged object occupies more of the available space. That leaves less space for water.

Under the assumptions presented in the puzzle, the paperclip takes up the least room. The glass containing it therefore holds the most water. The baseball, by comparison, occupies a much larger volume. Its glass may appear similarly full, but more of that fullness comes from the object itself. The eraser and watch sit between those examples in the ordering given by the image.

A useful check is to imagine removing each object while keeping the water. The glass that loses the least occupied space would still contain the greatest amount of water. That mental comparison directs attention toward displacement rather than the apparent height of the surface alone. It also explains why the largest object is not the answer, even if it makes its glass look impressively full.

The conclusion depends on the conditions of the illustration. The glasses must be comparable, and the relevant comparison is the part of each object actually submerged. A picture is not a precise measurement, so the intended solution follows the simplified arrangement described rather than an exact experiment involving unknown object sizes or materials.

The title also invites a personality interpretation, but the physical explanation does not establish whether someone is generous or selfish. Choosing a glass is not evidence of a person’s character. The useful part of the exercise is the opportunity to notice which visual feature first caught your attention and then compare that impression with the logic of the puzzle.

With the stated assumptions, Glass A is the answer. The broader lesson is about checking what a picture measures: equal-looking levels do not necessarily mean equal amounts of water when different objects share the space.

Looking again is therefore more useful than rushing to defend a first impression. Once displacement is considered, the apparent contradiction disappears. The glass looks full partly because of its contents, and those contents include more than water alone.
